The 5th Annual Lubbock Tattoo Expo Has a Contest for Everyone

Best tattoo? Worst tattoo? Or are you just really great at slapping a stranger?

The 5th Annual Lubbock Tattoo Expo (February 1-3, 2019) at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center (1501 Mac Davis) has likely got a contest that's perfect for you.

Of course, the standard tattoo award categories apply, like Medium Black & Grey, Tattoo of the Day and Best Traditional. However, even in the "normal" categories, Lubbock Tattoo Expo has categories I've never seen before, like Best Hand.

The weird categories, however, are downright exciting.

Worst tattoo is a great one. Contestants compete by showing off their unfortunate past mistakes, and the winner gets a cover-up.

Free Hand Friday is ridiculously cool:

3 ARTISTS WILL BE PICKED TO COMPETE ON STAGE TO TATTOO 3 LUCKY CANVAS/CLIENTS FOR FREE!

THEY WILL HAVE 2 HOURS TO DRAW AND TATTOO ANY GIVEN SUBJECT AND THE AUDIENCE GETS TO PICK WHO WINS THE CASH PRIZE FOR THE ARTIST AND A TROPHY FOR THE CLIENT!!

And the infamous Slap Off contest goes down on Saturday:

ON THE MAIN STAGE--2 ROUNDS ONE FOR GUYS, ONE FOR GIRLS. FIRST ONE TO BACK DOWN OR GET KNOCKED DOWN LOSES, WINNER GETS CASH PRIZE.
