Alamo Drafthouse in Lubbock to Host ‘Interview With the Vampire’ Afternoon Tea
I'm going to be really honest. I memorized Interview With the Vampire movie, line for line, at age 13. I had it on a VHS and watched it obsessively. To this day, it's a perennial favorite of mine.
When other girls pop in a romantic comedy and eat a tub of ice cream, I sit about 5 inches from the screen and mouth the dialogue along with Louie, Lestat, Armand, and Claudia. And have a glass of wine, which is 100 percent not rat's blood...because I'd eat humans like Lestat.
This film is going to be remade soon. It's past due by Hollywood standards, and finally, an actor that can hold a candle to Tom Cruise's Lestat has emerged: Cody Fern of American Horror Story fame. This is all speculation on my part, but I know I'm right. I mean, look at him:
Lubbock's Alamo Drafthouse is screening this film, so for the first time in my life, I'll be able to see it on the big screen. I'll try not to weep, but no promises.
To make things even better, it's an Afternoon Tea event. For one price, not only do you see the movie, but you'll also be served three cups of premium tea, and three gourmet tea treats: Cheddar Horseradish Puffs, Truffled Deviled Eggs, and a Goat Cheese & Raspberry Tart. Also, your friend Renee Raven is hosting this event and would love to have you there to celebrate.
