Lubbock’s Favorite Hole-In-The-Wall Restaurant is Finally Open!

There are plenty of little restaurants you could drive by every day in Lubbock without giving them a second thought.

And then, there's Aloha BBQ.

Tucked away at 9810 Indiana Ave., Aloha BBQ is tiny, no-frills, and incredibly easy to miss if nobody has ever told you about it. I couldn't help but mention it today because it's my all-time favorite place to eat in Lubbock, and I know for a fact that I am not alone.

Someone announced yesterday on the LBK Foodies Facebook page that it had reopened, and people were ecstatic.

Folks, Aloha BBQ is finally open again.

The little Hawaiian hole-in-the-wall serves favorites like chicken katsu, Hawaiian BBQ chicken, kalua pork, loco moco, musubi, noodles, fried rice, and INCREDIBLE macaroni salad. Get the full menu here.

The portions are HUGE, y'all, and the food is made to order. They're usually pretty busy, so expect to wait a bit. Reviews regularly mention waiting period of 30 minutes or longer.

I want you to know it is WELL worth the wait. It's kind of just part of the whole experience.

Newbies, this isn't just some trendy new restaurant that showed up in Lubbock. According to the Yellow Pages, it's actually been around for nearly 2 decades. They've got a seriously loyal and decidated following in Lubbock.

The restaurant has gone through some extended closures, a few that lasted longer than expected, but they're open now, so get to it!

Bring your patience for the wait-time, go hungry, and prepare yourself to discover why everyone loves this place so much. You'll never drive by that restaurant again without considering Hawaiian food for dinner...for the third or fourth time this week.
