Lubbock Loves LEGO, But Amarillo Gets Brick Convention
There's no doubt that Lubbock loves Lego- I know many avid collectors and builders.
Lubbock is also home to Bricks & Minifigs (8004 Indiana Ave Ste B12) a spacious store dedicated to Lego blocks and figures, which hosts Lego events and parties.
Despite our love for the brand, our neighbors to the north are hosting a huge Lego event, and we will have to travel if we'd like to participate.
I suppose Amarillo is allowed to have some of the cool things.
The Details
Brick Convention is a traveling Lego convention in Amarillo on January 4th & 5th.
Brick Convention is designed as an all-ages and educational event with building zones, dozens of large displays, professional Lego artists, and vendors selling Lego related items.
The event will be held at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex (401 S Buchanan St) in 3-hour sessions. Each session offers the same activities and exhibits.
Saturday, January 4
Session I: 10:00am – 1:00pm
Session II: 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Sunday, January 5
Session I: 10:00am – 1:00pm
Session II: 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door.
Some displays that may be available to view will be life-size figures, mosaics, Lego trains/ cities, botanicals, Star Wars, and more.
The event will also feature special guests, which could include contestants from Lego Masters, artists, content creators, and authors.
Since Amarillo is less than two hours away from Lubbock, this seems well worth the drive for the Lego enthusiast. Amarillo also has plenty of fantastic places to eat and you can gas up at the new Bucc-ees. Now that's a worthy road trip!
