‘Aquaman’ Poster Teases Classic Costume, New Trailer Arriving Tomorrow
MY MAN director James Wan has revealed another official poster for his upcoming Aquaman movie, and in addition to teasing the arrival of a new trailer (coming tomorrow, YEAYUHH), you might notice something pretty interesting about that arm shooting out of the ocean — it sure looks like Jason Momoa will, at some point in the film, sport the classic Aquaman costume from the comics. I CAN DIG IT.
Wan tweeted out the new poster along with the caption, “A Son of the Land… A King of the Seas… He’s the Protector of the Deep. Something arrives tomorrow.”
First things first, that “something” arriving tomorrow is undoubtedly a new trailer for Aquaman, which hits theaters on December 21. Moving on to the main focus of the poster, that does indeed appear to be Aquaman / Arthur Curry’s classic green-and-gold costume. So if you thought that we wouldn’t be seeing the oceanic hero’s more colorful duds in the dark-and-gritty DC universe, it would seem that you are incorrect — although I suspect the Momoa will spend the bulk of the film in his shirtless-leather pants combo (aka Momoa’s normal clothes).
Aquaman also stars Amber Heard as Mera, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna (sure, why not), Patrick Wilson and his man bun as Orm / Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko (these are real names, I am not making them up), Djimon Hounsou as the Fisherman King, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta.
