Art Studio Latest Victim In Recent Spree Of Lubbock Burglaries
Over the last few days, several Lubbock businesses have reported burglaries.
They appear to all be quick smash-and-grabs, likely causing more loss through the destruction of glass and doors than through the loss of cash in registers or items from the store.

Businesses reporting these losses (and paying hundreds for new glass) are Ralph's Records, Ravi's Liquor, Rachael's Restaurant, Bricks and Minifigs Lubbock, Phone Medic of Lubbock, CBD American Shaman of Lubbock, and likely others, according to a post and comments on the Ralph's Records Facebook Page.
All of these businesses are locally owned.
The latest in this string of burglaries is an art studio, CASP Studio F, which has reported losing hundreds in equipment and irreplaceable art.
Missing items include a portable air conditioner, a blue wagon, an SLR camera, a movie projector, and more. Also missing are several pieces of ceramic art.

A fellow artist reported some possible clues as to who could have committed the studio break-in:
Before the fire on 8th and Buddy Holly today [11/6/2024], the guys at the tire shop on the corner (I think pro wheel is their name) had an attempted break in. Then that couple came back asking for an ambulance, one was messed up on drugs Ran off once it got here. Then They noticed the fire across the street. They said the woman had a blue wagon full of stuff with her.
It is unclear if this latest break-in is related to the string of burglaries suffered by Ralph's, Rachael's and Ravi's.
Surveillance was captured at some of these break-ins, showing individuals wearing masks and gloves, making them difficult to identify.
Times are already tough for small businesses, here's hoping the people behind all this destruction are caught soon.
