Atheist Community Of Lubbock Helps Homeless With Donation Event
The Atheist Community of Lubbock will be hosting an event to benefit the homeless in Lubbock and surrounding areas on August 28th at Mose Hood Park. Donations are welcome, specifically hygiene products, clothing, and shoes.
I can only imagine what being homeless could possibly be like, especially as a woman, without access to feminine products. It would be wonderful if everyone could pitch in to help out the ladies in that department. Tampons and pads are not cheap, and they aren't at the forefront of your mind when you are just trying to feed yourself and stay sheltered from the elements. Many women that don't struggle with homelessness still struggle to be able to take care of those needs, and you would be doing a massive service by donating anything you can.
It's also hard to get yourself a job and get back on your feet without the proper attire. If you have old clothing that you were thinking about donating, this is a wonderful time to put all of those things you never wear into a bag and give them to someone that truly needs them.
There will be no questions asked, and no strings attached, so if you are someone struggling in the community, please do not hesitate to take advantage of these donations. There will also be another similar event on November 6th, if you aren't able to make it to this one. That event will also have resource booths and testing, as well as food and supplies for those in need.
Thank you to the Atheist Community of Lubbock for helping those in need across the South Plains. If you would like to donate to his wonderful cause, please contact Tracey Benefield Atheistsoflbk@gmail.com and arrange to drop them off.
