Man Hits and Kills 18-Month-Old Lubbock Child With Truck

The Lubbock Police Department has released grim details about the death of a toddler in front of a home Tuesday night (Feb. 13).

According to LPD, a man interested in buying a vehicle visited the owner's home in the 4400 block of 43rd Street. After looking at the car, the man entered his truck, which was parked at the curb, to leave. The 18-month-old child had wandered off the front yard where children were playing and onto the street in front of the truck. The toddler was then struck by the truck.

The child was brought to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.

The Lubbock Police Department's Accident Investigation Unit is looking into the facts surrounding the incident. No arrests have been made or charges filed as of the publication of this story.
