Next In Line To Die: Texas Man Brutally Murdered Infant, Claims ‘Intellectual Disability’
Some Texas death row inmates are harder to empathize with than others.
To be candid, I am finding it impossible to feel anything but extreme disgust and hatred for Blaine Milam, the next man scheduled to be executed on Texas Death Row.
The Despicable Crime of Blaine Milam
Blaine Milam, his girlfriend Jessica Carson, and Jessica's 13-month-old daughter Amora had been living in a trailer owned by Jessica in Rusk County. Rusk is located in East Texas, with a population of just over 50,000.

According to Blaine and Jessica, an exorcism of Amora took place inside the trailer. The ohysucal evidence says otherwise.
According to Longview News-Journal, on December 2, 2008, at around 10:30 a.m., Blaine called 911 to report that he had found the infant dead- that Jessica and he had left her unattended and someone had broken in to kill her.
However, Jessica would admit that she was present when Blaine had "performed an exorcism" on Amora because she was demon possessed. After the child was killed, the couple pawned some items and bought cigarettes.
The Terrible Death of Amora Carson
According to court documents, the death of Amora was incredibly brutal and horrific. I'll spare you some of the specific details that will surely keep me up tonight, but here is a summary of the condition her body was in:
Amora was severely beaten, strangled, sexually mutilated, and had twenty-four human bitemarks covering her entire body in what the medical examiner called the worst case of brutality he had ever seen.

A pipe wrench was found under the trailer after Jessica asked her aunt to hide the evidence while she was in jail. Her aunt, being a decent person, alerted police.
Who Deserves A Texas Death Sentence?
According to Texas law, only capital crimes are subject to possible death penalty sentences. Beyond being ghastly and horrible, this crime fit the criteria as the victim was a child, and other felony crimes happened (the sexual assault).
"Future dangerousness" must also be proven, and I think we can agree that the brutality and callousness of this crime is proof enough of that.
Jessica received a life sentence in jail for standing by as the crime happened. Blaine was given the death penalty, yet managed to receive a stay of execution in 2021. His attorneys argued that his intellectual disability would make an execution cruel and unusual, according to the Texas Standard.
However, court documents reveal that after Blaine was forced (by being in prison) to withhold from meth use, his IQ scores improved, making the "disability" argument flimsy.
He is now scheduled once again to be executed, this time on September 25, 2025.
