Bleachers in Lubbock was an amazing, intimate venue for small to mid-size live shows. And now, the building is once again ready for sale- what will the future hold for this Depot District legend?

Is The Former Bleachers Sports Bar For Sale In Lubbock?

According to a post made by Mike Fuqua on Facebook, the building that once housed Bleachers and Firehouse(and more recently, the quirky and cool antique shop Bentley Arrow) is now for sale.

As you can see, the space is fairly large and consists of a ground floor with a wrap-around mezzanine. It has been altered since its days as a venue, but it still has a low wrap-around stage of sorts.

What Made Bleachers In Lubbock So Special?

Bleachers was an incredible place to see live music, thanks to the mezzanine, which meant you could have a great view from almost anywhere in the building. I also loved the low, intimate stage, allowing you to be right up close and personal with performers.

I am very grateful I got to see The Reverend Horton Heat and other acts in this super unique, cool place.

It was also a popular sports bar in the time before a-sports-bar-on-every-corner in Lubbock. My buddy Landon King openly admits to consuming many chicken wings on the premises.

Does Bleachers In Lubbock Have Potential As A Venue?

For the right person, absolutely. The bar was removed by the previous tenant, but a new one(s) could be replaced easily. The Depot District already gets a lot of foot traffic from Tech kids and townies. It's close to other popular venues like The Garden.

Could Bleachers Make The Depot A Destination For Live Music Again?

Gosh, I truly hope so. Somebody, please make this happen!
