Authorities Identify Two Children Found Dead in Lynn County

Thursday, the Texas Department of Public Safety released an update concerning the deaths of two children in Lynn County.

The identities of all three bodies found in a vehicle on County Road Q just west of US 87 are: 37-year-old Jeremy Contreras; his son, 6-year-old Garrett Contreras; and 23-month-old daughter, Avery Contreras.

The Texas Rangers continue to investigate the events leading up to their death. The mother of the two children, Cybil Contreras, claims it was a murder-suicide.

KAMC News reports court records indicate Jeremy and Cybil Contreras were in the process of a divorce.
