Brownfield Man Charged With Murder of 5-Month-Old Child

20-year-old Zachary Maldonado of Brownfield was arrested Monday night (November 11th) originally for injury to a 5-month-old child, but was later charged with murder.

According to KAMC News, police were initially called for reports of an unresponsive child, who was later airlifted to Lubbock. That child died on Tuesday, November 12th.

A family member says that Maldonado, who was also said to be the father, hit the child and threw them on the floor in a home in the 100 block of East Hill Street.

He is currently being held on a $1.5 million bond.
