Buck-A-Ride Night Returns To Kick Off 2024 South Plains Fair Fun
I will always loudly proclaim: Buck-A-Ride Night at the South Plains Fair is a must-attend!
As the name implies, rides are only $1 each, and you'll save money with no parking and no gate fee. This is the only night with no gate or parking fees.
The games are open to play and most of the delicious, amazing local food vendors are open and ready to serve you. I can't wait for a corn dog and a fried pie and a turkey leg and lemonade and and and....
Buck-A-Ride Night (also known as preview night) will be held Thursday, September 19th, and is technically before the fair officially starts.
This night will likely not include any of the free, new shows like the sea lion show, and will not have exhibits open.
That's why I strongly suggest going to Buck-A-Ride Night and another night of the fair to get the whole wonderful, whimsical experience while keeping to a budget.
Did you know?
South Plains Fair is a 501(c) nonprofit whose mission is to promote agriculture and livestock production and to support youth and education.
The fair began in 1914 and has been held every year except for the years of World War 2. This is the 107th Panhandle South Plains Fair! What a rich tradition our fair represents.
It is estimated that roughly a million dollars is made from the 501 (c) food booths, which fund a wide range of local charitable organizations like churches and other nonprofits.
The South Plains Fair creates scholarship opportunities for students of Texas Tech, South Plains College, Wayland Baptist University, Lubbock County 4H, and Lubbock Christian University.
It's always feel-good fun at the South Plains Fair!
