It's tax time again, and unfortunately, that means I have to fork over a bunch of money and eat ramen for a few weeks. Big-time bummer. I've been looking for helpful tax write-offs to lessen the blow of owing the IRS a couple of grand, and I came across a write-off I've never considered...

Did you know that you can write your dog off on your taxes? Rich people are doing it, and they haven't gotten around to spilling the beans about it to us poor folk.

Here's how it works:

Is it ethical? Maybe not. Is it legal? Absolutely.

If you own a business, you might consider writing your pet off on your taxes. A little chihuahua could even be considered a guard dog! But, make sure you have all of the proper documents to prove your pooch is a valued employee of your business or a certified service animal. Writing off their dog food and other costs sounds like a dream! I spend SO MUCH MONEY on pet food. I'd love to get a little of it back every year.
