This Thursday (12/5/2024) a barbeque will be held outside of Claraboya Scratch Kitchen + Bar (505 Ave Q, as part of Double Tree Hilton Hotel).

The barbeque will be located on the North Back entrance.

Acclaimed Chef Antonio "Tony" Pina is taking the reigns and will offer a variety of meats including brisket, sausage, chicken and some surprises cooked fresh on Claraboya's massive smoker.

The food is available for donations and cash and credit cards will be accepted. Proceeds of the barbeque will go towards the burial of Nick Garcia, who was tragically shot and killed outside a Lubbock bar on November 29th.

Investigations into the shooting are still ongoing. Nick was only 28 years old and is the son of Martin Garcia, known to his friends as "Cowboy."

From Chef Tony:

I'm writing to ask you to support us and in our fundraiser. Your donation helps us accomplish our goal. Your donation will go toward the burial of Nick Garcia. The son of our brother
"Chef Cowboy" Martin Garcia.
We will be located in the North back entrance of the Doubletree Hilton University Area Hotel
505 Ave. Q
Any donation is appreciated, cash and credit cards accepted

If you've eaten any of the delicious and elevated cuisine at Claraboya, odds are good that Chef Cowboy and Chef Tony created your dish.

I had the extreme pleasure of attending Thanksgiving brunch at Claraboya and it was the best Thanksgiving meal I've ever had. If you haven't eaten at Claraboya yet, you are missing out.

This is an excellent opportunity to eat great while helping a family lay a beloved member to rest.
