Just learned today that lawn mower racing is a real thing in Texas, and enthusiasts are totally serious about. This isn't just racing your neighbor while you're both out cutting the grass and drinking beer. No. This is the real deal, dude. Sponsors. Championships. Souped-up mowers. The works.

It's a trip.

I came across a video of a race a few weeks ago and I didn't think much of it. I figured it was just a one-off to snag footage of and share on the internet. But, after a little research, I realized these fools ain't messing around.

The Lone Star Mower Racing Association is an actual THING...

AND, what's more, is the LSMRA is only one small chapter of the United States Lawn Mower Racing Association (USLMRA). It's not just us Texans. It's all over! In fact, lawn mower racing apparently got its start across the pond in England.

Check out a little clip of one of their races below:

Now, I'm trying to figure out where I'm gonna fit a riding mower into my one-bedroom apartment...because this sh*t looks fun.

Do you think you'd be any good at it?

You can learn all kinds of wild stuff about lawn mower racing here. Maybe racing a mower is actually your calling and this is your sign to pimp yours out at home and take it for a spin... (send pics)
