The Real Land Before Time Is in Texas, and You Can Visit It
If you’ve ever wanted to walk in the footsteps of giants—literal, prehistoric giants—then get packin' for a trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park, aka the "Dinosaur Capital of Texas."
A Dino-Lovers Paradise
Tucked away in Glen Rose is a full-blown time machine where visitors can see fossilized dinosaur tracks and pose with life-size dinosaur statues. You could even pretend you're being chased by a T-Rex without a single person there judging you while your pal grabs a great shot of the action.
Things To Do At Dinosaur Valley State Park
While you're out hunting for ancient dinosaur tracks left behind in the bed of the Paluxy River, you can camp out, picnic, hike, mountain bike, fish, paddle the river, look for a geocache, ride your horse, or pop into the interpretive center to learn more about dinosaurs. There are 20 miles of trails for you to enjoy in all sorts of ways, and the park store has tons of souvenirs and gifts to memorialize your trip.
The Daytripper spent the day in Glen Rose and shared a great video of what you can expect at the park, along with some delicious-looking suggestions for places to eat while you're in town. Check it out below, and then keep scrolling for more park details.
