I've heard some pretty interesting variations of town names from folks who haven't spent much time in Texas. Amarillo and Lubbock, for example, always seem to confuse outsiders for some reason. They seem pretty cut and dry to me, but then again, I'm from these parts. I think the proper pronunciation lives in my bones or something...
