Localpalooza 2023 kicks off in Lubbock this Saturday, September 16th at The Garden at 1801 Buddy Holly Ave #5136. Doors open at 2:30 and the bands are going to get started around 3:30. Get stoked! It's going to be a badass day of local metal.

This year's performances include Bastion, Trenchrat, Element of Nexus, Through Life, All Falls Down, Victera, World War, Labor XII, Obliterated, and Sleep When We're Dead.

You can purchase tickets ahead of time by clicking here or on Saturday at the door. They are currently listed online for $10 with a $2 service charge. The tickets are usually a little bit more at the door, so my best advice would be to get them in advance so you can save a couple of bucks.

This will be Bastion's first show since November of last year. I caught up with my pal, frontman Dustin Havens yesterday to ask about the show. Here's what he had to say:

"With our drummer Taylor and our guitarist Benji running Burnt House Records, we’ve been busy at work but also honing our skills when it comes to sound. We’re coming out swinging hard with a set list full of brand-new songs and a few old favorites. And no set of Bastion would be complete without a song about a certain local car salesman. We’ve been working to make this set the best we’ve ever played. As Chop put it, we’re doin' this one “for our boy” Marty Mata while we continue down this path he helped us create. This show is also Chop’s return to guitar. He moved to bass when Benji joined the band. But he’s back in full force to throw down. We’ve hired Chris Honesto of Rek Media Co. and Neon Graves to craft a light show for our set just to kick things up a little more. We think this new set list we have is perfect to keep people moving and heads banging straight out of the gate all the way to the last note. We are super excited to be closing out this stacked show full of incredible bands and can’t wait to share the night with all of our friends."

Don't miss out on Localpalooza this weekend! And, if you happen to get any good photos of it, we'd love to share them on the FMX Facebook page. Feel free to shoot them over to me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com, and have a dope time!
