The road construction on East 19th Street and up and down Avenue Q has me wanting to throw in the towel. It is a disaster over there. It's hard to maneuver, the signs are unclear, it looks completely different every single day, and there are massive holes in the road that will seriously eff up your car.

It sucks, dude.

I wake up early in the morning and maneuver through the dark most god-awful construction to get to work every day and it seriously takes the wind out of my sails before the sun is even up. It's like whoever planned the construction bit off more than they could chew when they decided to tear up so much of that area at once. It's also really frustrating to drive through the orange cone maze from hell on a sunny day and see very few people working on it. Sometimes, nobody at all.

Oh, and, get this...the coup de grâce...

The roadwork isn't expected to be complete until 2026.

That's two more years of tire trauma, road rage, questioning my existence, and considering moving to a treehouse far far away in the most remote portion of the Amazon jungle just to avoid seeing another orange cone or road divider AGAIN.

I'm over it. What about you? How are your tires holding up? Take this opportunity to complain about Lubbock construction fails in the comments below this article and then let's go get a gallon of ice cream and watch a rom-com.

I need a nap. I'm cranky.
