Record Store Day returns to Lubbock's Ralph's Records (82nd & Indiana) this Saturday, April 22nd. It's a day for audiophiles and vinyl enthusiasts to pick up rare, exclusive, small-run/ regional, and first-run vinyl records from our locally-owned, heritage record store. Ralph's has been part of the Lubbock community for over 42 years and remains a cultural gem in the Hub City. In fact, I saw Ralph and the Lubbock Arts Festival this weekend. Neat!

Record Store Day has many special releases this year, and it will be a surprise which titles off the list Ralph's will receive. You can view the entire list here, but here are a few from my personal "short list" that I'll be on the hunt for:

Frank Black Live 2006

The Big Problem ... Crispin Hellion Glover

Show 2023 Remaster The Cure

Forever Voiceless Brian Eno

Pleasant Dreams (NY Remixes) The Ramones

Lost Tapes Vol 4 Motorhead

Work In Progress The Specials

Johnathan Goes Country Jonathan Richman

Rockin'  & Rollin' T. Rex

If you have a particular title that you have your heart set on, I recommend getting there as soon as the doors open at 9 a.m. this Saturday.

In addition to having your first (and possibly only) shot at RSD titles, Ralph's always has tons of surprise sales throughout the day, and you might even see your favorite DJ from 4-6 (heavy- wink).

Ralph's is more than records too- it's a great place to find music in nearly every format, vintage and modern video games, movies, posters, T-Shirts, and plenty more. I recommend giving Ralph's a follow on Instagram to see the rarest and choicest stuff as soon as it rolls in.

Lubbock Bartenders Reveal What Your Drink Order Says About You

I asked both former and current Lubbock area bartenders and door guys what they REALLY think about you- based on what you're ordering at the bar. Remember: this is all in good fun, be sure to always tip your bartender who loves you even if you do order a Lemon Drop.
