Four Texas Teens Crashed into a Tree in North Harris County, One is Still Missing
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Officers are looking into an accident involving four teenagers who wrecked into a tree early Thursday morning on Falvel Misty Drive in the Northwood Park Subdivision.
So, what happened?
Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle to be unoccupied. It was later determined that 3 teenagers were taken to a nearby hospital. An additional teen is reportedly still missing after fleeing the scene.
At this point, it's unclear how the crash unfolded, according to the Precinct 4 Constable's Office.
I've got my thoughts on what could have happened, and I imagine you do too. I remember being a teenager and being much more afraid of the police and the consequences of poor decisions than I should have been. It turns out, most of the time, cops are your friend. But, they aren't big fans of you trying to get away, or lying to them.
Advice to parents of teen drivers: Tell them to please make sure they tell their kids to sit tight, stay calm, and be honest when something goes wrong.
Story time:
A friend of mine accidentally drove her car INTO A LAKE once when we were teens.
It was late in the evening, and the lake had recently flooded. She wasn't familiar with the area and thought she was on a street when she was actually driving right into the lake!
She was terrified and did her best to call up everyone she knew to get help pulling her car from the lake. This, of course, was not the best plan of action. The cops eventually showed up, laughed it off, and were much kinder about the situation than she thought they would be. It was a lot of fuss for no reason.
Honesty, even when it's scary, is always the best policy...
Stay safe, friends.
