Frances Bean Cobain Shares Her First Ever Song
At the age of 25, Frances Bean Cobain has revealed an a capella version of her first public song. Though she has apparently written a guitar part for the yet-unnamed track, Cobain chose not to pick up the instrument, instead putting her surprisingly good voice on display.
Being the daughter of Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain and Hole frontwoman Courtney Love, there’s obviously a certain amount of natural talent Frances Bean is assumed to possess. Neither of her parents ever pretended to be a classically trained singer, but Frances Bean’s voice is both clean and soulful.
Cobain sings, “I think I saw you when I was small / I think I found you / A penny for your good thoughts / I think I found you / Jesus hangs in your place on the cross / All these hinges become unscrewed / Heaven knows it was a cage on earth.”
She later shared some additional lyrics to the track: “Stable sable sold her heart / No one asks her why she hides in a basket in her house in a box / Find a fiend who reigns supreme in May / Fast enough for blooming buds to lay their egg.”
For those anticipating a Seattle-tinged grunge release from Frances Bean, don’t hold your breath. She’s stated in the past that she’s not a fan of the genre and the majority of Nirvana’s music.
