Moving is ridiculously expensive without spending an extra few hundred bucks on boxes you're going to use once and then toss in the trash.

If you're getting ready to move in Lubbock, you may not actually have to pay for any boxes at all.

Where Do I Find Free Boxes In Lubbock?

One of the easiest places to begin your quest for cardboard boxes is your nearest local grocery store. My friends have specifically mentioned United Supermarkets where you can often get free produce, milk and meat market boxes.

The trick is to stop by the customer service desk. Don't just wander through the store like you're doing a scavenger hunt. No stealing! Just ask!

Liquor stores often have lots of leftover boxes, most of which are pretty sturdy given they used to carry bottles of liquor. It's worth it to stop and ask one if you can take a couple of their hands. The worst thing they could say is "no", right?

Be sure to check Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor, and local buy/sell pages. Sometimes, people who just moved at desperate to get rid of a mountain of cardboard. Help them out!

One important note: call first.

Stores may have already crushed their boxes for recycling. Give them a call and set it up ahead of time to avoid wasting gas driving all over Lubbock for no reason.

Good luck with your move, and may you find a billion free boxes long before you spend a single penny on them!
