The past few weeks, Brenda Garcia of United Supermarkets has joined us to talk about back to school snacks. The tips that she has given also do great for back to work snacks and even meals.

Last week, Garcia encouraged listeners to visit happyandnourished.com to get all types of ideas for back to school time. When we visited with Garcia last week she talked about tuna. Garcia said canned or packaged tuna is too often overlooked, but you can eat it right out of the can or package. Tuna is a great source of protein and it's very inexpensive. Another great thing about canned and packaged tuna? It lasts a long time. At happyandnourished.com, Garcia says there are some great tuna dishes to try including Tuna Melt Bites.

This week Brenda Garcia has another great and tasty idea. Freezer Smoothies. Freezer Smoothies are made by prepacking your ingredients in little baggies, like fruits or vegetables and freeze them. After they are frozen, you put them in the blender and you are good to go.

Garcia suggested using strawberries and blue berries and even avocado in your freezer smoothies.

Listen to the full interview above with Brenda Garcia from United Supermarkets to get more great tips about back to school and even back to work snacks that are delicious and healthy for everyone.
