We like to think we’re calm, rational adults who can handle life’s little annoyances, but we are straight-up LYING to ourselves! All it really takes is a drained battery, a ruined dinner plan, or one missing sauce packet for our inner drama gremlin to take the wheel.

The RockShow With Chrissy and Wes asked listeners to tell us about their most dramatic reactions to life's minor inconveniences and got a laundry list of DRAMA that pales in comparison to your toddler's tantrum over not being allowed to eat a little dog poo from the yard...

The Dramatic Results

One person admitted to throwing their computer mouse at work because it chewed through batteries as if it were its full-time job. Another went full scorched earth by canceling an entire vacation and putting their phone on Do Not Disturb for the day. Was it necessary? No. Was it satisfying? Absolutely.

Food-related inconveniences hit especially hard. One listener went to bed hungry after discovering that their carefully planned steak-and-baked-potato dinner had been cooked incorrectly and mashed without their consent. Another solved the problem of someone stealing food off their plate by staring them dead in the eye and telling them to eat the rest of it.

Technology has also pushed many of us over the edge. One listener confessed to punching a flat-screen monitor during the LimeWire era because music was downloading too slowly, turning impatience into an expensive and rage-fueled life lesson. Others admitted to abandoning Netflix entirely after one buffer or declaring the day ruined when their phone battery dipped below 20%.

Then there are the dramatic responses fueled purely by spite. One former employee got surprise work travel news right before Thanksgiving and responded by getting tattoos specifically where their job had said they weren’t welcome. Honestly? I think this one takes the cake. Talk about commitment...and sticking it to the man...

From throwing a perfectly good tray of cookies because a single cookie hit the floor to furiously cleaning an entire house after something as simple as dropping a set of keys, these moments remind us of something important: we’re not dramatic...we’re just passionately inconvenienced.

And frankly, sometimes the overreaction is the only thing that makes the inconvenience survivable.

And frankly, sometimes the overreaction is the only thing that makes the inconvenience survivable. We've all been there. We'll all be there again. Just try not to let your frustration push you to walk into traffic, and I think we're gonna be just fine.
