Halloween Season Prompts Some To Binge On Horror Movies
Fans of all things Halloween related come out of the woodwork during spooky season and binge watching horror movies is one way in which to celebrate the season during the month of October.
Our digital guy here at Townsquare told Renee and me that he wants to watch one scary movie for each day in the month of October... Yeah, sometimes he comes up with brilliant ideas like this and that's why we love him.
The movie that stands out in my mind the most for having made my skin crawl when I was younger is 'Alice Sweet Alice'. There's just something about a young Catholic girl named Alice (Paula Sheppard, actress) going psycho on her sister, played by a young Brooke Shields, that completely freaked me out. Maybe it was because I was going to Catholic school at the time and have a sister too, but either way that one is definitely on my "must watch list" for spooky season.
Renee had some excellent suggestions for scary movies, but she also included one that I just recently watched, 'What We Do In The Shadows'. The movie about a documentary crew following the daily lives of vampires is not what I would consider scary, by any means, but the comedy in the film is absolutely hilarious!
October is also the month for blockbuster films to be released on the big screen and I am personally looking forward to the following:
- Joker - October 4, 2019.
- Gemini Man - October 11, 2019.
- The Addams Family - October 11, 2019.
- Maleficent: Mistress of Evil - October 18, 2019.
- Zombieland 2: Double Tap - October 18, 2019.
