Hub City Comic Con is returning to Lubbock this year, in what I'm calling a fun size event. Because fun-size candy bars are about a third of a standard candy bar, and this is a third of a full-sized event.

Hub City Mini Con will still be held at the Lubbock Civic Center (1501 Mac Davis Lane), but will only run on Saturday, December 5th, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Special guests are currently TBA, and events details have not yet been disclosed. However, the event promises art, celebrities and more:

Hub City has gone mini! This year we will be holding a one-day physical event with some of your favorite artists, celebrities, and content creators! Be sure to stop by and help support Toys for Tots Lubbock with a drop-off or donation!

As a bona fide nerd person, I've missed cons and cosplaying very much in 2020. Of course, you can cosplay at your home, but I'm remiss to use makeup that nearly always breaks out my skin for just a photo. I still did it for Halloween. Here's a horrible pun on my real surname (Swackhammer).

Let me present to you...Renee Squarehammer:

My makeup skills may have gotten a little rusty, but my love for being a tremendous dork has only grown. I'm excited for this mini-event that has a nice price: $15 for adults and $10 for kids, if bought in advance. Face coverings will be required, and temperatures will be taken at the door:

This year has presented many challenges for events across the globe. We want to ensure all of our vendors, attendees, and guests that we are enacting as many safety measures as possible to make the event safe. In compliance with the CDC we have laid out the following guidelines below. The policies are subject to change at any time. These changes will be posted at the show in highly visible areas as well as every available media outlet available to our team.

I'm excited. To bide our time before the event, here's a ton of pics from previous years at Hub City Comic Con:
