My coworkers have been hassling me to try Kokio Chicken for a while now. It isn't that I didn't want to try it, I'm just a busy lady and hadn't had a chance to squeeze it in until yesterday. I'm here to report that I waited FAR too long to try out what is probably, hands-down, the best fried chicken in Lubbock, Texas.

The Best Dish in Town

I ordered the Honey Rice Cake with Chicken, and my boyfriend had the tenders. We had the food delivered to us because, well, we are lazy, and don't move much if we don't have to. Despite the extra wait time to have our food delivered, it was the crispiest and juiciest fried chicken either of us has ever had. I loved mine. The rice cakes were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was so good, I wanted to lick it off my plate.

We stuffed our faces with chicken, watched a movie, and passed out in a glorious food coma.

Needless to say, we will be trying every single dish on the menu at Kokio now. It's that good, y'all, and if you're curious, NOBODY is paying me to tell you how great their food is. This is all on my own volition. Do yourself a favor and RUN, not walk, to Kokio Chicken this weekend for a bite.

Nostalgic South Plains Mall Food Lubbock Folks Want Back Immediately

The South Plains Mall has some amazing food options both inside and around the building. But that doesn't keep us from missing some bygone places from when we were kids in the 70s, 80s, 90s or 2000s!
