Texas Brand Of Coolers Subject To Massive Recall Due To ‘Amputation’ Injuries
Anyone who has ever had a fingertip injury will tell you how wickedly intense the pain is, and how unbelievably bad they bleed.
I have my own story about slamming my fingertip in a door, but I won't go into details as it turns my stomach to even think about it. Let's just say I had to throw that long-sleeved shirt away.
While I can't prevent you from encountering a door, I can warn you of a recent recall issued by Igloo due to a dozen reports of fingertip injuries, including amputation. Yeowch!

Let me start by saying that I'm a fan of Texas-based Igloo, which makes products I love, including my enviable The Simpsons Lunch bag.
Not so enviable is the Igloo 90-quart Flip & Tow rolling coolers, which are the subject of the recall. Over a million of these are being recalled due to the tow handle, according to CBS News.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall after the tow handle caused pinching injuries to users, some quite severe. In addition to amputations, there have been lacerations and bone fractures.
The recalled coolers sold from January 2019 through January 2025 for between $80 and $140 at stores and online, including Academy, Amazon, Dick's, Costco and by Igloo Products.
As this recall covers several colors, SKUs, and descriptions, you can check the full list here to see if you have one of the coolers subject to the recall.
