Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma are recovering from terrible storms that ripped through yesterday, December 14th, 2022. Reports say that two people were killed and five were injured. Rescue and recovery teams are still at work today.

Growing up in West Texas, tornados are just a fact of life. Lubbock has been pretty lucky over the years, except of course, for the terrible tornado that roared through in 1970. Storms get bad here, but we haven't seen any action like that in a long time. We have definitely had our fair share of close calls and horrible storms, but in recent years, we've seen nothing to compare to what happened in Dallas yesterday.

There are tons of videos of the tornado circulating online. I found a YouTube video that compiled lots of different clips of the tornado for anyone that might be curious to watch it unfold. You can find the video at the bottom of this article.

If you have the time or money to donate and you're interested in helping out some of the victims of these recent storms, please don't hesitate to contact The Red Cross. You can call them at 1-800-REDCROSS.

I can't imagine just how devastating it would be to love my house and all of my belongings right before Christmas. Stockings. Gifts. Trees. All gone.

If you can swing it, please donate some of your time or money to our friends over in Dallas. If you were around in the 70s, then you know what it was like to go through something like this.
