Bill Maher will be gracing the stage at the Buddy Holly Hall this weekend (Saturday, July 31st), and he graciously took time out of his busy schedule for a quick interview with The RockShow.

Wes and I were both incredibly excited to talk to him, and he couldn't have been a nicer guy. He was warm, endearing and excited to come to Lubbock, Texas (of all places) for the first time.

It's not every day that you have the opportunity to share the phone line with one of your idols. Wes handled most of the interview, which is probably for the best. I was so dang stoked I could barely keep myself together. I revisited several different Bill Maher stand-up comedy specials and talk show episodes and did a little internet research in preparation to talk to one of the greatest comedians of all time. Not only has Maher been entertaining the world for decades, but he's also a huge animal rights activist and has served on the board of PETA since 1997.

He's hilarious and he cares about animals. How on earth has he been a bachelor for so long? Likely because he's also incredibly intelligent. In fact, his film Religulous is one of the highest-grossing documentaries ever made. It's fascinating. If you've never seen it, then it's time to put on your comfy pants and grab some popcorn.

Thanks so much for giving us a call, Bill. It meant a lot to The RockShow, and it meant so very much to me. It's something I won't ever forget. His show on Saturday is going to be great, and if you haven't bought your ticket yet, it's not too late. You can buy them here.
