Donating no longer wanted or needed items to a thrift store can be a real win/win. Not only are you keeping the item out of the landfill, but you are also helping support a worthy cause.

Reuse is the best way to recycle- because it doesn't require any energy or resources to break the item down and reform it. So we should donate everything we don't want anymore, right?

There are several items that you shouldn't donate to thrift stores because they either don't want it, or it's unsafe for them to have.

"I can't believe they don't want my donation! How ungrateful!"

Let's face it, some items are not resealable, and by "donating" them, you are just burdening them with your garbage, taking up their finite space, or creating a hazard.

Some items are fairly obviously in the "no thanks" pile, while others might surprise you. Here is a list of items that most, if not all, thrift stores in Texas will not accept from you:
