There are a few things you can always look forward to in Lubbock during September.

The Hub City BBQ, cooler weather, opening weekend of Nightmare On 19th Street, and the Panhandle South Plains Fair.

Nothing indicates the fall is here quite like making a trip to the fair for some fried cheese, lemonade, and funnel cake.

As always there will be plenty of great food options, thrilling rides, and or course a plethora of shows to suit everyone’s taste.

And if you’re like me and don’t really care for the rides, you can always go out before 2 p.m. to check out the exhibits, walk around, eat your favorite fair food, and just enjoy the atmosphere without having to pay for parking or a gate entry fee.
