It’s that time of year when Texans are over the summer heat and can’t wait to feel the cool fall breeze on their skin.

Not only does fall mean cooler weather, it means falling leaves, sweaters, cozy blankets, and mugs full of pumpkin spice coffee. The PSL, or Pumpkin Spice Latte, has become such a fall staple that people officially mark their start of fall with the cozy beverage.

When it comes to the PSL, you have your casual drinkers that get one every now and then, enjoying it like any other seasonal drink. Then, you have the PSL die-hards. They get one every morning, maybe even an extra in the afternoon, and they make it their whole personality for the rest of the year.

These PSL fanatics are often spotted with skinny jeans, an oversized sweater, knee-high or thigh-high brown boots, and a wide-brim felt hat.

While they appear innocent at first, they can quickly turn into a ‘Pumpkin Monster’ if fed too many PSLs in one sitting. That is why, come mid to late August, baristas must keep an eye out and look for the warning signs of a PSL girl turned Pumpkin Monster.

All jokes aside, fall really is just around the corner and pumpkin spice is said to be making its way to Dunkin on August 16, 2023, and to Starbucks on August 24, 2023.

If you love pumpkin spice, I'm right there with you and think you should drink as many PSLs or any other fall drink to your heart’s content.
