4 Lubbock Teens Turn Themselves In to Police After Fatal Burglary
The Lubbock Police Department has confirmed that four teens involved in vehicle burglaries have turned themselves in after another teen died. On Sunday, December 3, the Lubbock Police Department was dispatched to University Medical Center before 2:15 a.m.. At the hospital a 14-year-old male was reportedly brought in by a private vehicle after suffering serious injuries from a gunshot wound.
That teen was later identified as 14-year-old Zaydrian Valdez and was reported as one of six teens engaging in vehicle burglaries in a Lubbock neighborhood. KAMC news reports that the Lubbock Police Department states that the shooting occurred near 82nd Street and Highway 87 while Valdez was with the group of teens. Those teens are accused of committing vehicle burglaries and stealing firearms, one of those stolen firearms is believed to be the weapon that wounded Valdez.
He did succumb to his injuries from the gunshot wound and passed away. 18-year-old Alyssa Gonzales, 17-year-old Angelina Estrada, 17-year-old Dehvin Garcia and an unnamed 16-year-old did turn themselves into the Lubbock Police Department on Tuesday, December 5. Those four teens were charged in connection to Valdez' death and the vehicle burglaries.
As per the publishing of this article there is no word on if the fifth teen in connection to the burglaries and Valdez' death has turned themselves yet. Gonzales, Estrada, and Garcia are all still currently being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center. Gonzales' bond is set for $25,000 while Estrada and Garcia both have bonds of $10,000.
