Chaos Unfolds In Lubbock: Woman Barricades Man With Knife In Domestic Dispute
A Lubbock man was seriously injured after being kidnapped. The Lubbock Police Department was dispatched a residence in the 8600 block of 10th Place on Saturday, March 23, on reports of a domestic disturbance.
KAMC news reports that the Lubbock Police Department had to use force to enter the home after the suspect, 30-year-old Jalenique Duvernay, locked herself in a bathroom. Duvernay was not alone and had the victim hostage in the bathroom with her and reports state that the victim did attempt to escape from the home but was injured in the attempt to flee. Duvernay then held the man against his will not letting him leave the home after reportedly cutting him with a knife to his right hand.
When police arrived Duvernay told them that she and the victim reportedly got into an argument which caused her to grab a knife to arm herself before she began wildly swinging the weapon. Duvernay was arrested by police and charged with No Driver's License, Aggravated Kidnapping Causing Bodily Injury, and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. As per the publishing of this article Duvernay remains in custody at the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds totaling $125,000.
