Super Bowl Snacks, Texas Style
The BIG GAME is Sunday - the San Francisco 49ers against the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas at 5:30pm. Who are you cheering for? More importantly...what are you going to eat?
There are the basics - chips and dip, pizza, pigs in a blanket. But in Texas we do it BIG ... with BBQ! A beautifully cooked brisket smoked outside for hours, and how about a few ribs along with that? If you do choose to barbeque, preseason the meat the night before and give yourself plenty of time for the smoking process. Depending on the size of your brisket it takes between 7-1/2 to 10 hours or more cooking at 200 degrees until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the brisket registers 185 to 200 degrees. Yummy!
Or maybe a big ol' bowl of chili with all the fixins like cheese, sour cream, or Fritos?
Or one of my favorites ... tacos either crunchy or soft, chicken or beef with a big bowl of queso and chips.
So many Texas style options. And don't forget the beverages. Always drink responsibly and be sure to arrange a designated safe ride home.
Whatever you choose to prepare or whichever favorite restaurant you visit to watch all the Big Game action, enjoy those snacks. Of course, there are the always fun commercials during the game along with the half-time performance (this year it's USHER). Enjoy and GO Kansas!
