There was a time when I desperately needed a little air after visiting someone at the hospital. Quesy from the antiseptic smell and harsh overhead lighting, I braved walking down the street during harsh winter winds. Cold chunks of dirt "exfoliated" my skin, teeth, lungs, and glasses.

A Welcoming "Light" in Lubbock

Not half a block down, I found my sanctuary, "of course! Jazz!" I walked in, greeted by the warm smell of incredible food, and sat at the bar. The bartender immediately served me with a smile, and I spotted an old friend of mine only two seats over.

That's Jazz for you; if you don't already have a friend there, you're sure to meet a new one. My blessed beer was out immediately, and as I washed the dirt out of my mouth and the stress off my shoulders, I couldn't help but say out loud, "I really love this place." I'm sure they hear it all the time.

Jazz Celebrates 40 Years Of Being Lubbock's Refuge

This Sunday, June 7th, Jazz will celebrate its 40th anniversary. That's about 250 in local business years. It's an amazing accomplishment, but also no surprise, as the food, drinks, service, and overall vibes have always been excellent.

Details About The Birthday Bash

Jazz will open at 11 am.m for regular service, but at 2 p.m., the live, local music and other street performers will start.  Performances by: FloWolF, Belly Dancer Scarlet,  “Los Buckets” SPiVEY, Caleb “Magic Man” Hendricks, tarot readings, and Jazz Alley. There will also be giveaways and freebies, including King Cake and a champagne toast at 6:30. You can also expect food and drink specials all day.
