Living With Diabetes Isn’t Hard With United Supermarkets
November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, and United Supermarkets is doing all they can to help those with diabetes live well.
Brenda Duby with United Supermarkets stopped by this week to discuss what people can find at Market Street locations this month.
Duby discussed how United's Health and Wellness Team put together different items to help guests. Duby discussed the Build a Better Meal Program and that all the recipes this month are low-carb. She also reminded listeners that they can go online and request a tour of your local Market Street. This is a great way to visit with dietitians where they can point out what foods are good and bad for everyone, including those living with diabetes.
One thing you will see in some Market Street stores are new displays that have items that people with diabetes might need. Displays include lotion, sugar-free cough syrup and sugar-free medicines. You'll also see snacks that are great for those with diabetes.
You'll be able to see the displays at the Market Street locations at 19th and Quaker and 50th and Indiana. Duby said that she and the whole team worked together to find great items that are healthy and can be grab and go.
Every Thursday during the month of November, Market Street's pharmacies will be offering free glucose screenings.
