Let me start right away by saying that this list is by no means comprehensive- it is just a few locally owned Lubbock stores that I know are

1) having Black Friday deals,

2) provide unique and amazing products that make excellent gifts and

3) are ran by generous and awesome people.

So if you're out shopping on Black Friday, I wish many incredible deals upon you. And if you can make room in your schedule and budget, I promise you won't regret it.

Stop by your favorite local places- they won't forget it either.

Now, on to my "short list" of great options.

Tumbleweed Botanicals (2610 Salem Ave)

20% off everything and fun prizes? Sounds like a magical time to me! Tumbleweed Botanicals has herbs, teas, candles, crystals, an amazing selection of fun socks and so much more. It's my go-to for stocking stuffers each year.

Cactus Alley Hat Co. (1718 Avenue F)

Cactus Alley Hat Co. is offering $25 hats and $30 hoodies for Black Friday. They have a wide range of unique, fun and stylish hats and hoodies. My Jackalope hat constantly gets compliments. You can also shop online at your conveniance.

Ralph's Records (3322 82nd St)

Black Friday at Ralph's Records is extra special- because its Record Store Day Black Friday.

That means that they will have a selection of super rare and collectable items that are distrubuted only to participating ondependant record stores. You can see some of the titles Ralph's may have here.

In addition to getting your mitts on really rare items, Ralph's has suprise sales in-store through out the day.

Remember: local Lubbock businesses are the backbone of our economy, and without them, Lubbock would be much worse off- finachially sure, but also culturally. We'd also be seriously lacking in the fun department.

Check your favorite  local places' social media accounts or just drop by. A big store won't notice your purchase, but a local place certainly will.
