Local Lubbock Craft Store Makes Painful Decision To Close, Cites Economy

After pouring seven years of dedication (and retirement savings) into their craft supply store, R&M Vinyl is calling it quits in Lubbock.

R&M Vinyl specializes in vinyl made for arts and crafts and taught classes in the medium. Vinyl can be used on T-shirts, stickers and decals, signage, and more.

The business had previously made several adjustments to its sales model and hours to save the struggling store. However, R&M Vinyl has now decided that keeping the store open is no longer possible.

Beginning today (July, 17,2024) R&M Vinyl is having a store close-out sale with 30% off all in-stock merchandise, customer print orders excluded.

Customers of R&M expressed their sympathy on the Facebook post announcing the upcoming closure:

My heart can’t, I’m devastated! I’m so sorry to hear this. I know you have to do what best for you all. This was my to go store for my vinyl and glitter needs when I started my small business two years ago. It has been a pleasure meeting you all. This place will be greatly missed! You all will be greatly missed.

It's always heartbreaking to see a local business go out of business, especially one owned by folks who were so obviously loved by their customers. It is a tough economy, and if you can support local in your purchases, please remember to do so.
