Local Lubbock Restaurant Faces Unexpected Expense, Needs Our Help
Joel's Restaurant (3116 Amhearst) is a well-loved, family-owned and operated local Lubbock Mexican restaurant. They are facing a large and unexpected expense and could use the Lubbock community's help.
Joel's Restaurant has been giving to the North Lubbock community for years by serving delicious, affordable food. The eatery is located near the Maggie Trejo Community Center and has participated in multiple community events, including Easter egg hunts.
To continue operation, Joel's Restaurant has been informed by the City of Lubbock that they will need to install a grease trap. Grease traps prevent fats, oils, and greases from entering the municipal sewer system.
Grease traps are not cheap, and the purchase and installation of the trap will cost around $20,000. To help mitigate the cost, Joel's family has set up a GoFundMe to collect donations.
Hello everyone, my name is Joel Jr Gonzales. I'm reaching out to ask for your support for my dad's restaurant. The city is requiring us to install a grease trap in order to keep the restaurant open. We are starting this fundraiser with the hope of raising enough funds to meet the city's requirement and keep the restaurant running. In addition to this fundraiser, we will also be organizing other efforts to help us reach our goal of $20,000. Any help or contribution will be deeply appreciated. Thank you for your continuous support.
Even small donations can add up, so if you'd like to give Joel's a "tip" for previous great food and service, doing so on GoFundMe would be a nice thing to do.
Additionally, you can support Joel's by going by and getting an excellent breakfast burrito or a delicious lunch plate.
We are wishing the best of luck to Joel's on their fundraising efforts.
