We’re All Bad at Something… and Somehow Refuse to Stop Doing It
There’s something deeply human about knowing you’re bad at something and continuing to do it anyway. Not because you’re improving. Not because you’ve learned a lesson. But because quitting would require self-awareness, and frankly, that feels like a lot.
When the Answers Get Existential Fast
We asked our radio listeners the question: What’s something you’re bad at but keep doing anyway? The answers were equal parts funny, sad, and painfully relatable.
Adulthood, Life, and Vague Gestures of Defeat

Trying Anyway, Even When We Shouldn’t
Some answers landed somewhere between funny and quietly tragic, like trying to grow hair, waiting awkwardly for someone to say their job, or insisting they’ll be “there in five minutes” while still sitting on the couch.
Still Showing Up Counts for Something
But maybe that’s the point. Being bad at something and doing it anyway isn’t failure—it’s persistence. It’s confidence without credentials. And if nothing else, it proves we’re all out here trying… even when we absolutely shouldn’t be.
