What Does Lubbock’s 311 Actually Do?

We've all heard someone say, "Just call 311," but what exactly is it for?

Lubbock's 311 Citizen Request System is basically a way for residents to call in and report non-emergency problems or to request certain services from the city, without having to figure out which department to call specifically.

What Should You Report To 311?

• Potholes
• Damaged or missing signs
• Issues with traffic signals
• Improperly parked or abandoned vehicles
• Illegal dumping
• Litter or other concerns about a property
• Issues that involve city facilities
• Issues that involve code enforcement
• Wastewaster or water-related problems
• Any other issues involving city services

When you call 311, the city can route your request to the appropriate department. You won't have to play the frustrating "Who do I need to talk to" game. 311 makes all of that much simpler.

What 311 is NOT For

Crime, fire, medical emergencies, or other situations where someone is in immediate danger. All of those issues are for 911!

Why Should You Actually Use It?

If you see things that are broken, damaged, overflowing, or unsafe, someone with the city needs to know about it! Help them out by reporting things when you come across them.

Posting a picture online and complaining does not count as officially reporting it to the city. Call 311 and be part of the solution!

So, if you're driving down the road and you see something that isn't quite right, but it also isn't an emergency, it's time to pull out your phone and give 311 a call. Let them know what's going on so they can send someone out to take care of it!
