Things That Make Lubbock Adults Feel Like They Have Their Life Together
Nobody in Lubbock actually has their life together. Let's just start with that.
We are all just better (or worse) at creating the illusion that everything is just peachy.
As a certified Lubbock trash person, I've learned that adulthood has nothing to do with reaching perfection. It's all about experiencing these little moments that briefly trick you into believing that your parents are wrong, and that you actually HAVE become a responsible member of society.
Feeling Like A Grown Up In The 806
Dinner Plans?
If you've got groceries in your fridge, and you already know what you're having for dinner tonight, bingo, you're rockin' this whole adult thing.
A lot of us are just eating random ingredients and dissociating while staring at an old, leaky cabbage in the bottom drawer. Should I toss it today? Meh. There's always tomorrow...
Full Tank Of Gas?
If you're driving around with a full tank of gas right now, you deserve a medal. You're unstoppable. I'd probably let you do my taxes. That's how adult you are. We are all impressed.
Clean Sheets?
This one deserves a mention.
Nothing says, "I've got a 401k" like climbing into a freshly made bed, with soft, smell-good sheets. Never mind the pile of laundry laughing at you from the corner. That's a problem for...next week...or...whenever you get to it!
Yeah. That's right!
You make the rules, king.
You're the boss around these parts, you clean-blanket having BIG boy!

Extra Cash?
If you can open your banking app without sweating a little, you're not only more financially stable than a lot of us, you're also more emotionally stable.
Other Small TOTALLY Adult Wins Include:
- Remembering you have a doctor's appointment without your mom calling to ask
- Having your coupons ready before you check out
- Going to sleep without dishes in your sink
If you've got most of these things going for you, congratulations!
You probably don't have your life together, BUT, you feel like you do, and that's what's important...right?
