I stumbled into some interesting information yesterday. It all started when I saw that select Cinnabon locations (likely the stand-alone ones) would soon offer butterbeer-flavored cinnamon rolls, and my heart yearned for them.

A Cinnabon Coming Soon

In an attempt to see the closest Cinnabon to me (thinking I would only get stand-alone results and that the answer was likely San Antonio), I discovered some tantalizing information. Lubbock has three Cinaabon locations listed on the website, and one marked as "Coming Soon." Could this be a dedicated Cinnabon?

Cinnabon Locations In Lubbock

6804 82nd Street and 3715 19th Street are both Schlotsky's locations that also have Cinnabon offerings. So it is entirely possible that the coming soon location could be a Schlotsky's. It's also possible it could be a co-branded location with Auntie Ann's pretzels. Or some other co-branded concept.

So Where's The New Location? Does That Give Us Any Clues?

1201 University, the corner of Broadway and University, across from Tech. Many moons ago, it was a Freebirds Burrito (RIP, you are missed). It is a roomy 2300 sq ft, which leads me to believe it may be a co-branded concept. That's fine, so long as they open in time to carry the butterbeer rolls. I NEED these things!

I'm wishing the absolute best for what goes into that location. It's a prime spot if the proprietor can keep it afloat. Lubbock needs the area near Tech to be a walkable, fun place for visitors, students, and locals. And I know I wouldn't hate the fresh smell of cinnamon rolls as I walk by.
