It’s Super! Lubbock’s Longest Running Comic-Con Returns For 2024
Lubbock's longest-running and only non-profit comic con returns this weekend.
Lubbock-Con, a celebration of all things pop culture, will be held at the Lubbock Civic Center (1501 Mac Davis) this Saturday and Sunday and will feature a variety of vendors, activities, and special guests to meet and greet.
Tickets are available at the door for $25 on Saturday and $15 on Sunday, and kids 12 and under attend for free with an accompanying adult ticket purchase. Weekend passes at a discounted rate are available here.
There is a special kids' area as well featuring games, and arts and crafts. There's also a calm room if things get a little overwhelming.
Special guests include:
Sina Grace, comic artist. Superman: The Harvests of Youth, Lil' Depressed Boy, Iceman, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and many other titles.
Nicole Kang, actress. Batwoman, You, Swallow, Orange Is The New Black, and other TV appearances.
Nicolas Roye, voice actor. Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Halo Infinite, Apex Legends, and others.
Elle Newlands, voice actress. Star Trek Into Darkness, Lego Dimensions, and others.
Johnny Young, voice actor. Ghost in the Shell (2017) and others.
Mela Lee, voice actress. Avengers Assemble, Mortal Combat 11, Apex Legends, and others.
Lubbock-Con always has a wide variety of vendors and artists, so make sure you bring a "goodies" budget, too, because you will want something from your favorite show, comic, game, etc.
You'll also want to attend the Cosplay Contest, on Saturday night at 6. Lubbock has some absolutely incredible and impressive cosplayers and they never fail to wow me.
Lubbock-Con has been a Lubbock institution for many years, and I'm wishing them many, many more.
