Things That Make Perfect Sense in Lubbock But Sound Insane Anywhere Else

If you've been in the Hub City for any amount of time, there are certain things you do and say that feel completely normal. The rest of the world would look at you like you're speaking a different language.

Life in Lubbock has its own strange logic. It's just something you've got to get used to before you can stop questioning it.

Here are a couple of things that make perfect sense here, but would sound kind of insane anywhere else:

"It's only a 20-minute drive."

In most cities, a 20-minute drive sounds like a big-time commitment. But, in Lubbock, 20 minutes is, more or less, just around the corner.

Planning your outfit around the wind.

Sure, you check the forecast in other cities, but do you tailor your outfit to the wind? Probably not. It's a thing here. Some days are NOT meant for skirts...

RIP Hastings. It doesn't even matter that the building is another business now. It's just the old Hastings to all of us, and it probably always will be.

Talking about Texas Tech like it's a family member.

Even if you didn't go to school at Tech, you can't deny that you say "we" when talking about sports. Think about it...

"Don't even think about taking Milwaukee."

We all know that means it's flooded. God shows no mercy on that poor street every time it rains.
