6 Things Every Lubbock Dad Is Certain He Can Repair Himself

Father's Day is coming up this weekend, and if you've ever spent time around a Lubbock day, you know there's one phrase he does his best to NEVER say:

"I should probably call someone to fix that."

It doesn't really matter what leaks, breaks, whistles, or may catch fire. Lubbock dads believe they can handle it themselves. Sometimes, they are right. Sometimes the project takes 7 trips to the hardware store, 4 new curse words, and a really long explanation for why the water is shut off for the 4th time in one day...

With the upcoming holiday, it felt like the perfect time to celebrate the most powerful force found in West Texas: Lubbock Dad Confidence.

The A/C

Nothing gets your pops in Dad-Mode like a broken air conditioner. It may look like a situation that could use a professional, but Dad sees this as a challenge.

He'll be staring at it outside with his hands on his hips for at least the first 20 minutes, guaranteed.

The Sprinklers

My dad spotted a broken sprinkler head last weekend and nearly had a full-on meltdown.

It occupied his entire Saturday.

Not a single call for help was made.

The Fence

Dad will eventually get around to fixing that hole in the fence, but not before your dogs get out at least 16 times.

The Family Car

He wants to tinker with it in the garage later while your mom watches soaps.
